Excerpt: Real resistance is not a Democratic fundraising pitch: It’s a relentless effort to defend our communities and our lives. Make no mistake: Their attacks will be unwavering, and while a politically outgunned resistance just shoved Goliath on his ass, we will want a lot more fists in the fight moving forward. But building numbers isn’t enough. We need a movement that doesn’t meet Trumpcare with calls for compromise, but with calls for Medicaid for all. When they say reform, we say freedom. When they say, “let’s negotiate,” we disrupt. There is no middle ground between good and evil that we can afford to settle for.

Transformative Spaces

Atena Danner, a Chicago organizer and the mother of a disabled child, speaks out against Trumpcare and performs live at a Chicago vigil to stop the bill. (Photo: Kelly Hayes)As the Senate’s “Better Care Reconciliation Act” finally came undone on Monday, another scheme to undermine health care access was hastily embraced by both Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. In the wake of Trumpcare’s latest setback, both Trump and McConnell indicated that they now supported a simplified but equally ominous goal: a repeal and delay strategy that would allow the GOP to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), with a two year window to hatch a replacement.Given that every version of Trumpcare has been an attack on the vulnerable, this repeal and replace effort was an obvious effort to create a greater health care crisis that would allow Republicans to portray themselves as saviors when they finally passed a new bill…

While President Trump’s boys were working to subvert our democracy, my son, second from left behind the flag, was risking his life under the weight of the Pacific Ocean while aboard the USS Nevada with his fellow submariners, men who honor their security clearances.

Dusk was falling on a chilly autumn evening when I heard a knock on the door. It was a neighbor, a man I knew just well enough to give a nod and a wave if I spotted him outside while driving past.

[One thought: does cyberwar count as war?]

Phew, what’s that stench?

Donnie Trump Jr., big game hunter, with an elephant tail. May this disgusting photo prove prophetic.

I think that’s the smell of collusion and gunpowder, folks, thanks to the smoking pistol that just dropped out of Donnie Junior’s pants.

If you’re reading this, then I’m betting you’re already familiar with Junior’s little e-mail problem, so I won’t recount the whole story here, but if you missed it, click this LINK to check out what journalist heroes at The New York Times have to say. But if you’re among the enlightened, you’ve probably already been thinking about the latest events, and here’s what I think I think:

  • People are starting to utter the T-word, meaning treason. Yes, I know treason is a specific legal term, and that in order to commit treason you have to actually be at war with the other country. We’re not at war with…
